LAHORE: A fire broke out at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) outdoor department on Monday morning. The situation was quickly brought under control and no less of life was reported in the incident. The incident occurred in the morning but operations resumed soon after and patients did not face any difficulties. Reportedly, a fire broke out in the paediatric department of LGH due to a short circuit. With the help of employees from the works department, the flames were brought under control. LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmud Salahuddin directed the staff concerned to take notice of the situation and examine the existing wiring in the hospital, and to replace them with new ones as early as possible. He stated that during the summer months, electricity wires tend to heat up and catch fire.
