Mnch Employees: Senator concerned over’ termination

ISLAMABAD:

Senate Sub-Committee on Health Thursday was displeased with the removal of 260 Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programme employees in K-P.

The committee’s convener, Senator Zahid Khan, directed concerned authorities to reinstate them or give them alternate jobs.

The programme’s provincial coordinator, Dr Zaman, said such appointments are not included in the programme’s PC-1. However, Zahid explained that the staff was inducted with the steering committee’s approval. The programme’s national coordinator, Dr Farooq Ahmad, said provinces are now responsible for running the affairs of health programmes.
