PESHAWAR: After the Peshawar High Court (PHC) reinstated three advisers and two special assistants to the provincial chief minister, the government termed it a victory for truth and righteousness.

Addressing a news conference after the court gave its verdict, Adviser to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Merged Districts Ajmal Khan Wazir and Special Assistant for Science and Information Technology Kamran Khan Bangagh thanked the PHC and said that they had full confidence over the courts. They added that they will continue to have full confidence over the national courts.

They termed the writ petition filed by Awami National Party (ANP) lawmaker and former K-P Assembly deputy speaker Khushdil Khan as an awkward act which not only wasted the precious time of the court but also tried to stop the advisors and special assistants from providing their service of the people.

Wazir said the presence of leaders from all parliamentary parties in the hearing showed that the entire political opposition was fearful of five ‘soldiers’ of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He added that the opposition should face the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the political field.
