Can MCU's Avengers: Endgame overtake Avatar? Just when it looked like the hit superhero film will fall short of the highest grossing flick of all time, the film has been given a lease of life.

The updated version of Endgame will include a previously deleted scene and a new introduction by co-director Anthony Russo, Disney revealed in a statement published on Tuesday. Fans will also receive a themed poster with their tickets, reported Reuters.

The makers of the film, Marvel, took everyone by storm recently when they announced the re-release of the blockbuster film. Now the franchise has revealed an exclusive poster to the flick which has sent social media into a frenzy over its meaning.

The poster was shared on Instagram via Marvel's official Instagram account and it has to do with Iron Man aka Tony Stark, reported Pinkvilla.

Consisting of the gauntlet of Iron Man with the infinity stones fitted to it, there is a special message in the poster which reads, 'We love you 3000.'

Avenger's fans know these lines were used by Tony's daughter Morgan Stark for him. This is definitely going to make everyone emotional as most of us are aware of Tony's gloomy fate in Endgame.

Speculations are rife that the re-release of Endgame is an attempt to beat James Cameron's Avatar. The MCU blockbuster is now predicted to lead the pack after the release of the film with additional, never-before-seen scenes.

According to the latest reports, the tickets for the new version of Endgame have already gone live. However, the film is going to be re-released in selected theatres. It has also been revealed that the new version of the MCU project will include some additional footage and deleted scenes too. It will reportedly also feature a tribute to the late Marvel Comic Book writer Stan Lee.

'Avengers: Endgame' is re-releasing with new footage and Twitter is going wild

As it stands, Endgame needs $38 million more to beat the James Cameron directorial. Marvel president Kevin Feige has announced that there will be a post-credit scene at the end of the re-release.

“The film will not be an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theatres with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises,” the film producer revealed.

Even with the re-release and the bonus content, it may be difficult for Endgame to beat Avatar since $38 million is a huge sum and the summer season is always crowded. However, some say this is not the motive at all. According to them, the re-release is not to get past Avatar but to promote Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film, in which Tom Holland reprises the role of Peter Parker (Spider-Man), hits theatres on July 5 and will be the first MCU film post Endgame.

The new version of Endgame will head to theatres three weeks before Disney debuts a remake of the film classic The Lion King. Some box office experts predict the animated film, starring superstar American singer Beyoncé, also has a shot at toppling Avatar in worldwide ticket sales.

Endgame is the 22nd movie under the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and has been directed by the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo.
