KARACHI: The Sindh government issued a notification on Tuesday ending the suspension of Sindh chief pathologist and chemical examiner and Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority's (SBTA) former secretary, Dr Zahid Ansari, who prepared fake reports regarding the content of the liquor bottles found in former minister Sharjeel Memon's hospital room. According to the notification, Dr Ansari has been appointed as Chief Pathologist of the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital after nine months of suspension.

Report finds evidence from Sharjeel Memon’s room was tampered

Dr Ansari's services as Sindh chief pathologist were suspended on September 5, 2018 after it emerged that he had prepared fake reports stating that the liquor bottles found in Memon's room at Ziauddin Hospital contained honey and olive oil.

The notification states that Dr Ansari was suspended and removed from the post of SBTA secretary because he carried out the chemical examination in a non-conventional manner.
