NATO chief appreciates Pakistan's role in Afghan peace process

Jens Stoltenberg says Pakistan's positive role imperative for regional peace

North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg appreciated Pakistan's crucial role in the Afghan peace process and said that Nato would want to work with Pakistan on bilateral understanding, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

The Nato secretary general made this statement during a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Brussels.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues related to the security concerns of Pakistan and the Western Alliance with Afghanistan and Kashmir.

Stoltenberg said that Pakistan's positive role was imperative for regional peace and stability.

According to the foreign minister, the meeting was significant for the development of Pakistan-Nato understanding and relationship.
