RWMC said that cleaning teams are working round the clock in two shifts to complete the task before the monsoon season begins in earnest in July.

During a high-level meeting, RWMC officials said that officials from the operations department are visiting different sites across Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujjar Khan, Murree, Kallar Syedan and Kahuta to monitor the storm drain cleaning drive.

They added that the RWMC was also working on creating awareness regarding the dengue virus. In this regard, officials said that their teams were going door-to-door to create awareness amongst the public on taking preventive measures against the virus.
