‘Opposition criticising budget without studying it’

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said on Saturday that opposition is criticising the budget without studying the document.

“None of the opposition members has studied the budget books, nor do they have the intellect to comprehend the allocation, they are here to make their perks and privileges and TADA for attending the session,” he said.

The minister was talking to the media after the K-P Assembly session on Saturday. The opposition members did not attend the pre-budget session to have insight into the financial year 2019-20.

“The opposition leadership is here in the post budget session for saving the skins of their corrupt leaders who have pushed the economy in free fall,” he said. He also cleared the misinformation that few of the politician on the opposition benches were blaming that auditior general has also submitted report on BRT and highlighted the proofs of corrupt, he stated that it was merely the observation on the project by the auditor general, the decision on the project would be given by the public accounts committee, who would probe and then they would submit their report.

“We ask opposition benches to take coaching classes for political growth,” he said.

PDA version on the auditor report

On the other hand the Peshawar development authority has also issued a press statement stated that Peshawar development authority has addressed 90 percent of the observation raised by the auditor general reports related to the Bus Rapid Transit.

The spokesperson of the PDA has added that in the high-ups meeting of the audit committee on the project were held here which were attended by the secretary transports, director general PDA has addressed the reservation on the project.

Yousufzai’s mother passes away

Mother of the Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yousufzai passed away on Saturday. She will be laid to rest on Sunday morning at 10am in her native town Shangla, according to a statement issued by the Press Information Department.

Governor Shah Farman, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, provincial ministers and opposition leaders have expressed condolences with the bereaved family.
