Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be seen together for the fifth time in upcoming film 83. But the married stars are ecstatic for other reasons: for once, they will be in a film where one of them does not experience a sticky demise.

The couple has some pretty big titles under their belt, such as Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny. Now, Ranveer says he is happy to do 83 because they "don't die in the end," reported Hindustan Times.

Deepika will play her husband's on-screen wife, Romi Dev, in the film where he is essaying the role of legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev.  83 is based on India's first win at then cricket World Cup in 1983.

The Bollywood beauty announced the beginning of the shoot for the film by posting on social media, "And on to the next...Thank You @kabirkhankk for this incredible honour!"

Ranveer, as usual, had a cute reply to his wife's post. "And this time we won't die in the end! Yay!" he joked.

Needless to say, the duo's characters have previously had some pretty tragic endings in the three Sanjay Leela Bhansali films especially. Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat all saw either both or one of them die in the climax.

'Chhapaak' is the most precious film of my career: Deepika Padukone

In fact, in Ram Leela, Ranveer and Deepika shoot each other in the end.

Historical drama Padmaavat, too, had Deepika committing suicide. Ranveer appeared in a cameo in Finding Fanny as Deepika’s dead husband.

Speaking about her role in 83, Deepika recently said, “I am so glad that Kabir (director Kabir Khan) came to me with it. This happened a couple of months ago, when he was still casting the boys for the film."

She continued, "It’s just that I was busy with Chhapaak and we were waiting for the right moment to make the announcement.”
