Italy, Pakistan enjoy excellent diplomatic ties: ambassador

ISLAMABAD: Italy and Pakistan enjoy excellent diplomatic relations, Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo said at a reception held at a local hotel to mark National Day of Italy.

“A number of Pakistanis are foreign workers in Italy and some have moved to the country for good,” Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo said

He mentioned trade relations with Pakistan, and drew special attention to the successful aid and academic cooperation as well.

The theme for this year was Venice. Models wearing traditional Italian dresses remained center of attraction of the audience throughout the event arranged by Mrs Lidia Pontecorvo at the Serena Hotel, which was beautifully decorated in the colours of the Italian flag, to celebrate the country`s national day.

The ambassador praised his wife for making befitting arrangements in terms of decorating the venue so as to give it a typical Italian look.
