Rs287m reserved for Rangers’ CPEC security wing

Rs15.383 million allocated for 500 police barracks in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: On the recommendation of the interior ministry, a sum of around Rs287 million has been allocated in the budget for the next fiscal year for the formation of a special security division of the Pakistan Rangers that would provide security to Chinese engineers and experts working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

Besides, an amount of over Rs15.383 million has been reserved for the construction of 500 police barracks with the capacity to accommodate 500 officials of the Pakistan Secretariat near K-Block, Islamabad under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

The budget has also allocated Rs133 million for the construction and maintenance of the mosque in the Secretariat and Rs22.50 million for Islamabad Forensic Science Agency and the Islamabad Laboratory.

Over Rs40 million has been reserved for the construction of houses for 15 superintendents of police in Islamabad Police Lines H-11.

An allocation of Rs400 million has been made for the third phase of the National Response Centre Cyber Crime NR-III-C project.

Around Rs150 million has been reserved for the housing, construction of administrative offices and training of the Rapid Response Force.
