CDA retrieves 10 kanals of encroached land

Operations clear roads to facilitate traffic flow during Eid

ISLAMABAD: To help ease the flow of traffic during the Eid holidays, the civic agency continued its anti-encroachment drive in the federal capital and recovered 10 kanas of land from illegal occupants.

The Enforcement Directorate of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted an operation on Murree Road on Sunday with help from CDA’s Machine Pool Organisation (MPO) Directorate and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, conducted the operation.

During the operation, two rooms and three boundary walls, which had been illegally constructed on state land, were removed. A gate, which had been illegally erected on state land, was also removed.

The anti-encroachment drive was conducted along Murree Road, Bara Kahu, Lake View Park, Play Land near Zoo, Faisal Mosque and inside the slum of Sector G-6/2.

The primary focus of these operations was to remove encroachments from the Right-of-Way (ROW) of the main roads leading towards Murree, as well as recreational sites of the city to ensure the smooth flow of traffic at the end of the Eid holidays.

People along with their families visiting different recreational spots in Murree were facing severe traffic jams in Bara Kahu during Eid holidays after encroachers had set up their stalls on both sides of the highway.

However, anti-encroachment teams with the cooperation of the district administration and Islamabad Police removed these encroachments and ensured smooth flow of traffic between Islamabad and Murree.

Meanwhile, special teams of CDA curtailed fresh, illegal constructions in slums of the capital and razed a newly-built illegal house near the Post Office in Sector G-7.

CDA had constituted anti-encroachment teams for strict vigilance and removal of newly cropped up encroachments during the Eidul Fitr holidays in different areas of the capital.

These anti-encroachment teams ensured the effective monitoring of areas cleared from encroachments and actively removed new encroachments during the Eid holidays.
