MULTAN: Multan Development Authority (MDA) Director General Tanvir Iqbal directed the officials concerned to prepare an assessment report for expanding and re-designing roads and chowks in the city to resolve the increasing traffic issues.

While presiding over a meeting on Saturday, he ordered officials to conduct a survey and to prepare an assessment report on Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Rasheedabad and other link roads. The DG ordered that all encroachments be cleared from the road connecting Chungi No 9 with Chungi No 8 and that land be retrieved from both sides of the road. He also ordered that a boundary line from Chungi No 9 to Rasheedabad be made.

An assessment report for the expansion of Chowk Shah Abbas would also be prepared. While giving a briefing on MDA Chowk, Director Engineering Nazeer Chughtai said that the footpath and street lights had been installed and made operational.
