LAHORE: Associate Professor of Medicine of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Dr Israrul Haq Toor has advised citizens not to overeat after a month of fasting during Ramazan.

This was necessary to avoid stomach problems, he said. The LGH professor further said that patients of blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and cardiac issues should remain more careful and go slow with their food intake. He explained that the excess use of cold drinks for digestion can also be a cause of diseases.

Dr Toor added that parents should watch their children and put an eye on the foods they consume outside of home. Dr Israr informed that many cases of overeating have been reported during the Eidul Fitr days and that it is important for one’s body to maintain a regular eating process after the month of Ramazan is over.

He said that oily and heavy foods are not only harmful for the body but also create danger for different organs because of which we must be careful after Ramazan in eating too much food.
