Majority of Pakistanis feel summer gets hotter each year: poll

A majority of Pakistanis think that this year is hotter than the last year, unearthed a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan.

A sample of men and women from across the country were asked the following question:
Do you think the heat has increased, decreased or is still the same compared to last year?

In the poll results, 74% people said that heat has increased this year, making this summer hotter than last year's. Nineteen per cent said that there was no difference in the heat and only 9% people said that the heat, this year, has decreased.

At the same time, Gallup noted that each time the survey is conducted, a majority of people state that the current year is hotter than the preceding.

The survey was conducted to a sample size of 2696 men and women belonging to urban and rural areas from all four provinces of Pakistan.

Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95 per cent confidence level.

Billoo Bhaya | 13 years ago | Reply Yes, heat is felt for the few moments by those lucky enough to fly to cooler climates or those running A\Cs 24/7. For those of us who live without A\C and brave the blackouts, for us it is another long hot summer that one passes in life. If only the rich would condescend to using less power or one A\C instead of cooling the whole house, then we would all be able to get cool water and a fan running to ease our passage of summer.
