35,500 police officials to be deployed for security on Eid in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam has directed his department to conduct sweeping and clearance of all central mosques, Imam bargahs, Eidgahs and other open areas before Eid prayers while reviewing the security plan made by Karachi police on Sunday.

More than 35,500 police officials will be deployed for security across the province on Eid of which, around 15,000 will be stationed in Karachi.

Imam said that all relevant SHOs will be informed of security details for Eid prayers in district wireless control rooms. He added that through strict security and recce in different areas of the city, they would ensure that security measures are extremely effective.

According to a police report, around 15,000 police officials in Karachi will be deployed for security at 1,367 Eidgahs, mosques, imam bargahs and other open areas for Eid prayers. Additional police force will also perform their duties on police motorcycles and mobiles.

The IGP has directed the Sindh police department conduct random checking, snap checking, patrolling and other security measures in the relevant areas to ensure peace and security is maintained. The duty points should especially not be left vacant in any case to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the three days of Eid.

Imam also issued special directives to the traffic police department so that traffic flows uninterrupted on Eid.
