Dawar and Wazir, both members of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), led on Sunday a group of people, who according to security forces assaulted a military check post in the tribal district of North Waziristan to forcibly secure release of a terrorists’ facilitator.
This attack had triggered a fire exchange which had resulted in death of at least 10 people, while causing injuries to at least 15 others. The security forces had later arrested Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar.
According to PPP spokesperson, Bilawal has written a letter to the speaker urging him to immediately issue production orders for Dawar and Wazir so that they can come to the NA and take the house into confidence regarding “what did they go through at the hands of law enforcement agencies".

This letter, sent through a special messenger of the PPP chairman, says Bilawal will soon write another letter to the speaker to describe the bad security and political situation of the country.
In the letter, Bilawal says he does not know whether the National Assembly was informed about Ali Wazir’s and Mohsin Dawar’s arrest or whether is it important to take parliament into confidence in such matters.
However, on May 27 when the NA session took place, it was expected that production orders for both the MNAs would be issued. However, neither the house was informed about the arrests nor production orders were issued. The PPP’s MNA Naveed Qamar raised this matter but his request was ignored.
“Ali Wazir’s family lost more than a dozen people due to terrorism and arresting Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar under terrorism charges is a matter of concern,” it says.
