
Thereafter, the district administration distributed biodegradable bags in two tehsils of the district to provide the public with an alternative.
The bags were distributed during a meeting with local traders, businessmen and trade unionists at the district administration office. Awareness walks were also held in the Jamrud and Bara tehsils.
Moreover, the district administration has launched several operations against polythene bag traders and confiscated their stocks in the market. In its stead, they distributed biodegradable bags.
In recent months, the Landi Kotal tehsil administration has distributed around 18,000 biodegradable bags, 5,000 in the Bara tehsil of the border district.
