Private housing society owner allegedly ordered guard to open fire at victims

LAHORE: A teenage boy was shot dead by a security guard of a private housing society over a minor issue in Batapur on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as Haseeb, was the only son of a heart patient father whose operation was scheduled a week after Eidul Fitr.

The victim was a student at Punjab College and was known to be a brilliant student who scored excellent marks in his second year examinations.

Initial investigations suggested that the owner of the housing society Sheikh Nisar had ordered guard to open fire.

The victim’s father and uncle had gone to a park near the housing society for a walk. Haseeb, along with his cousins went to pick them up. Nisar had reportedly forbidden them to visit the place and when they reached the park, they allegedly exchanged harsh words with Nisar.



When the victims boarded the car and were about to leave, the security guard named Muhammad Asif shot two fires. One hit the victim in the belly and he received serious injuries. Haseeb was taken to Gurki Hospital where the doctors administering first aid recommended to the parents that they shift their son to Lahore Services Hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.

SHO Inspector Intikhab Hussain said that an FIR has been registered and that both suspects have been arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
