ISLAMABAD: COMSATS is a smoke-free campus, senior faculty told Senate Standing Committee on Narcotics Control during a meeting at varsity’s Islamabad campus.

Senator Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum led the committee members, Deputy Secretary Zarghoona Shabbir, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Force Commander, Brig Syed Mubbashir Hassan Kazmi, representative, Higher Education Commission (HEC).

COMSATS Executive Director Dr SM Junaid Zaidi, Faculty of Engineering Dean Shahid A Khan and Dr Junaid Mughal briefed the Senate panel on efforts of COMSATS in controlling drugs on campus.

Dr Shahid Khan informed the committee about the university being a smoke-free campus. A wellness centre has also been established on the premises to deal with stress and matters related to Drugs as well.
