Karachi plunges into darkness as power breakdown hits city

Unannounced load shedding continues in different areas

Several areas of Karachi plunged into darkness as a massive power breakdown hit the city in the early hours of Wednesday, Express News reported.

Areas affected by the breakdown included Malir, Quaidabad, Samanabad, Sohrab Goth, New Karachi, North Karachi, Buffer zone, North Nazimabad, Orangi Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Gulzare Hijri Scheme 33 and Saddar.

Karachi suffers another power breakdown

Unannounced load shedding continued in these areas causing difficulty for the residents.

Electricity remained suspended in different areas of Karachi on Wednesday, Express News reported.

K-Electric in its response reiterated its commitment to provide maximum relief to its customers.

The power utility elaborated that power supply to households or residential customers is prioritised especially during Sehr and Iftar times and clarified that while the power supply to majority of the city during the early hours of Wednesday remained unaffected, localized technical faults occurred in few locations including Malir, Sohrab Goth, New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Orangi Town, Korangi and Saddar which were swiftly addressed and resolved by the K-Electric Rapid Response Teams which remain on duty round the clock to rectify any faults.
