The solar system water supply scheme was inaugurated by a widow on Sunday. Frontier Corps Wing Commander Lieutenant Colonel Hammad Ansari and locals were present on the occasion. The residents expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army for making it easier to fetch potable water.
The locals have been suffering from scarcity of drinking water for a long time. The FC wing commander also distributed ration among several families of the area.
Earlier this month, the Pakistan Army set up a free medical treatment camps in Gishkor and Kooli areas of Balochistan’s Awaran district.
According to statement released by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), specialists including lady doctors treated over 3,500 patients including women and children.
The doctors at the medical camps performed 100 eye surgeries along with various diagnostic procedures including ECG, ultrasound and hepatitis screening.
The camps also supplied ration packs among 150 families.
Established on the directives on the Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the camps provided much-needed healthcare to the local population. Similar medical care stations have been set up in Kharran, Gulistan, Badini, Shahraig, Naushki, Naseerabad, Chaman and Ziarat, said the army’s media wing.
The military’s outreach programme is aimed at establishing healthcare services for the population in far-flung areas of Balochistan.
