LAHORE: Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Monday rejected the chief minister’s advice that Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry be made the vice chancellor of Sargodha University. Governor House’s Public Relations Officer Ishtiaq Ameen said appointments of Dr Sabiha Mansoor as vice chancellor of the Lahore College for Women University and of Dr Samina Amin as vice chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi were approved. He said Dr Chaudhry’s appointment had been rejected in light of reports of the Special Branch that he has been accused of sexual harassment of staff. He said the governor had used his constitutional powers and that he was not required to comply with the advice of the chief minister. He said summaries for appointment of people with a bad reputation should not be sent to Governor’s House.
