Beloved actor Hugh Jackman, who has been playing the character for 17 years, made it very clear that he is not returning as Wolverine to the X-Men universe. While several names have made the headlines, including Mad Max actor Tom Hardy, Marvel Studios hasn't revealed their plans for Wolverine yet.  Keanu Reeves seems to be up to play the popular X-Men character though, getting fans super excited as to how MCU will incorporate the story line.

The Matrix actor recently confessed his interest in playing the Wolverine, admitting to his interest in the X-Men role during an interaction with Buzzfeed Q&A session to promote the third part of the John Wick series - with puppies!

The actor revealed that as a child, he always dreamed of playing Wolverine.

“I don’t know, when I was a kid, I always wanted to play Wolverine, so, Wolverine," Reeves said, admitting to his interest in playing the hero.

Fans are also taking to Twitter to share what the actor may look like as the hero.

"Hugh Jackman needs to give his blessings first," one user wrote.
