Motorway police launch drive for preventing road crashes

Owners and drivers of PSVs will be briefed especially about uncertified CNG cylinders

ISLAMABAD: National Highways and Motorway Police have launched a campaign to prevent accidents of public service vehicles (PSVs)

On the direction of DIG N-5 North Zone Mohammad Alam Shinwari, an effective and comprehensive campaign launched to prevent PSVs accidents.

During this campaign, the field formation of NH&MP will be exclusively focusing on strict enforcement against PSVs as well as for a computerized database detail records of drivers data.

Effective briefing will be imparted to owners and drivers of PSVs especially with regard to uncertified CNG cylinders, over speeding, careless driving and unauthorized alterations and modification. Negligence in these matters will be dealt with strictly.

Motorway police has fined 100,000 vehicles since January 2018

Apart from this, Random checking of PSVs will be done by patrolling officers to make sure that the drivers of PSVs are in good mental and physical condition and they carry all the requisite documents such as fitness certificate, route permit, valid driving license and authorized CNG kit.

Moreover along with this, all field staff and their supervisory officers have been instructed to strictly enforce the law and take action against PSVs involved in different kind of violations.

DIG N-5 North has instructed all the officers to make the campaign a success so that the threat posed by PSVs to the lives and properties of commuter could be averted.
