Shehbaz condemns proposal to hike gas prices
Says it was about time incompetent govt bows out for greater benefit of nation
LAHORE:
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the possible 47% increase in gas prices and has demanded that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (Ogra) summary for the increase be rejected.
“How will people survive after this astonishing increase in gas, electricity, petrol and prices of other products? How will businesses operate?” Shehbaz, who is currently in London, said on Saturday.
Shehbaz a no-show in LWMC case hearing
He demanded that, in the next budget, minimum wage for labourer should be increased to Rs30,000 per month and the working class should be provided an immediate relief of Rs10,000, in view of the economic conditions and inflation.
Criticising the government’s economic policy, Shehbaz said the government has failed in running the country affairs. If the country’s economy keeps falling apart like this, it will be a threat to the national security.
“That is why it is better that the inexperienced and incompetent group [ruling the country] goes home in greater benefit of the people of Pakistan.” He said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s incompetence, inability and ignorance has made Pakistan’s economy the worst in Asia.
LHC extends Hamza Shehbaz’s pre-arrest bail
“The time has proven that PM Imran Khan is only good at cursing people but countries can’t be run through cursing. Deteriorating economy of country has set alarm bells ringing.
“The country and nation cannot bear this additional pressure because if, God forbids, the economy collapses then only a miracle could revive it. The forces that love the country need to consider this situation,” he said.
