It’s that time of year again. Our favourite stars have been spotted sporting extravagant outfits at Cannes Film Festival 2019. One of the most exciting events in fashion, the French Riviera is yet again playing host to A listers from both Bollywood and Hollywood. And, needless to say some celebrities are giving us swoon-worthy red carpet looks at the high profile gala.

While some outfits looked stunning, others simply missed the mark. Let’s take a look at a few B-town beauties to see who did it better, and who really didn’t!

Deepika Padukone

Bow to the queen! We already knew Deepika would be wearing an outfit by designer and close friend Peter Dundas for the event. However, what we didn’t expect was the extent to which she would take everyone’s breath away.

The Piku star stepped out in a custom made, white floor-length gown.  The exaggerated pointed sleeves, plunging neckline (without being too much) and a sweeping trail added to the wow factor. But, what really gave the outfit character was the over-sized black bow. Her accessories went perfectly with the outfit, pairing the extraordinary piece with strappy Aquazzura stilettos and statement diamond earrings.

Deepika’s makeup was a little extra but somehow suited her well.  The kohl-rimmed cat eye really complimented the bold theme of the attire. Loads of highlighter ensued she sparkled through the evening.

While some may love the slicked back high ponytail, it was just a little too much for our eyes. Loose hair would’ve softened up the already rough look.

The Padmaavat star also knows how to rock the casual look oh-so-well. This could’ve bordered dangerously on the pyjama look, but her striped co-ord suit set hugged her in all the right places. And, we are loving the contrasting bright orange heels. An edgy holiday look that screams Cannes in all the right ways!

However, this black tulle and green snakeskin-accented outfit is a huge step down from Deepika’s previous looks. While it’s kind of cool to wear runners with the dress, the ensemble is way too messy.  Some may love this casual-cool look that kind of reminds us of Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City in Paris. Or, it seems like shes headed to Coachella!

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka made sure to turn heads during the festival. Attending the screening of documentary film 5B, the star shined (literally!) in a white outfit which caught everyone’s attention.

A few hours before the event, Priyanka shared a picture of Lady Diana wearing a beautiful white outfit. It seems as though she has tried to recreate that look. The actor wore a pleated white jumpsuit and teamed it up with the cape. Glowy, clean makeup made her skin pop in a heavenly way.

Earlier, Priyanka’s glitzy debut outfit got everyone talking. Looking gorgeous in a Roberto Cavalli creation, the Bollywood star really took glamour to the next level.

Chopard jewellery and minimal makeup complemented her black and red embellished gown at the Rocketman premiere.

Kangana Renaut

Kangana tried to create a fusion between old India and Hollywood, but it didn’t quite work.  Taking to social media to share a picture walking down the stairs in her ensemble, the sassy celebrity just failed to impress this year.

The Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi star didn’t win any hearts with the colour scheme of the look either, from the silky gold looking a bit too outdated and the magenta gloves just simply tacky.

While we appreciate her efforts to look bold and daring, the sari could’ve been much better in soft pastel shades or even black. Nonetheless, the Bollywood star can certainly pull of some looks no one else can.

Which ensemble is your favourite so far?  We can’t wait to see what else these Bollywood celebrities will showcase during the 10-day event.
