Presidential spokesperson, Farhat Ullah Babar, said President Asif Ali Zardari was informed about the resignation of Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan.

The spokesperson said in a statement that the president is in the UK and was informed about Ibad's resignation.

Following the MQM's sudden exit from the federal and provincial government, PPP leader Jahangir Badar claimed that the PPP will talk to the MQM and will not let go of it like that.

He said the PPP would continue its policy of reconciliation, and take on board all political parties on the issues of national interest.

Farhat Ullah Babar also said Ishratul Ibad should review his decision.
