City managers accelerate drive to clear blocked pathways in Islamabad

Barriers, guard rooms erected beyond plot line demolished in Blue Area and major avenues

ISLAMABAD: An anti-encroachment operation launched by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) to eradicate violations from the right of ways has been accelerated.

These operations are being carried out simultaneously all over the city including Blue Area, Main Nazimud Din Road, GT Road, Main Margalla Road and other major avenues. During these operations, several barriers, guard rooms, entry gate, iron grills, electric generators and other encroachments installed on the right of way or beyond the plot line are being demolished.

The operations are being actively participated by the Enforcement Directorate, ICTA, Islamabad police, Roads Directorate, Building Control Section, and other formations of the authority.

In this connection, CDA teams conducted an operation along the Main Nazimud Din Road and razed different illegal structures from the vicinity.

During this operation, drop down barriers, entry gates, guard rooms, security cabins, parking sheds outer iron grills and other illegal structures in front of commercial towers and buildings were demolished.

Similarly, another operation was conducted along the Main Margalla Raod sector F-6 and F-7 during this operation, 25 illegally constructed security cabins and two illegally installed generators outside plot line were removed.

In another operation was conducted in the along the he Margalla Road sector F-10. During this operation 10 security cabins, eight gates, five generators, 15 road blockers, 16 supporting walls, 20 iron grills, 10 lawns and 25 illegally installed fences were removed.

Another action was taken at Chungi No. 26, along the G.T Road where an illegal bus adda namely Bilal Travels comprising upon a canopy, booking office and passengers waiting area illegally constructed on state land was demolished.

Meanwhile CDA has decided to form three separate committees to survey buildings in the city within a month to determine code violations by different buildings in the federal capital in order to regulate them.
