HYDERABAD: The five victims of Tuesday's gas cylinder explosion in a passenger van were laid to rest on Wednesday. The district administration belatedly geared into action against vans using cylinders in violation of Sindh High Court's (SHC) order. At least five passengers, Hazar Khan Chachar, his wife Manzooran Chachar, their daughter three-year-old Kainat, and two women, Muradan Behalkani and Lal Khatoon Behalkani, were burnt to death in the incident which took place at the toll plaza in Kashmore.

Kashmor-Kandhkot district police booked the van's driver, Abid Sanjrani, who has escaped, on Wedneday in the FIR of the incident which was lodged on the state's complaint. Seven more passengers including two staffers of the local court, were shifted to Rahimyar Khan in Punjab in critical condition.

Case filed against driver of Burnt school van

The deceased belonged to Kandkhot where they were buried in Golimar and Zabir Behalkani areas. Following Deputy Commissioner Munawar Ali Mithiani's directives for the crackdown on vans, public transport vans disappeared from the routes connecting Kashmore and Kandhkot with other parts of Sindh. The figures of removal of cylinders on Wednesday were not shared by the evening.
