Security plan for Yaum-e-Shahadat-e-Ali reviewed

Foolproof safety measures including snap checking at different Entry points of the procession will be conducted

LAHORE: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations Wing) Lahore Ashfaq Khan has said all possible resources will be utilised to provide maximum security to the participants of the main mourning procession on the eve of Yaum-e-Shahadat-e-Ali.

Foolproof safety measures including snap checking at different Entry points of the procession, massive search, sweep and combing operations will be conducted. Biometric machines and android phones will be used for verification of particulars of individuals and to hunt down suspicious elements.

Search operations regarding the tenants living in a particular area have already been started. The passengers coming to Lahore will thoroughly be screened at bus and railway stations.

The DIG said CCTV cameras would be installed at sensitive points including the route of the procession for proper monitoring. He was presiding a meeting to review the arrangements being finalised for the provision of security and maintenance of law and order.

The members of the management committee of the main procession of Yaum-e-Shahadat-e-Ali were also present on this occasion.
