International anti-narcotics day: Customs burn huge quantity of drugs

PESHAWAR: The Customs Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday burnt huge quantities of narcotics to mark the International Anti-Narcotics Day. 776 kilograms (kg) of heroin powder, 1,601 kg of opium, and other perishable and non-perishable drugs seized by the customs during various raids, were burnt at Azakhel, Nowshera.

Deputy Director Customs Rashid Habib told the media that Pakistan Customs remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs and narcotics from society as they not only pose a serious threat to public health, but also undermine socio-economic stability and sustainable development.
