NAB probes into corruption in OLMT

NAB sources confirm bureau will soon launch inquiry into OLMT embezzlement

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started investigations into alleged corruption, worth billions of rupees, in the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project.

Concerned departments, including LDA, have submitted records consisting of hundreds of files to NAB Lahore. Investigation of Pakistan’s first intercity OLMT has started and the investigating team consists of various NAB officers.

NAB was given the records of Chauburji to Ali Town (Package-II). The records were related to construction contracts and land purchasing. Hundreds of pages were delivered to Thokar Niaz Baig NAB in a mini trolley.

The investigating team will look into the records and subsequently decided whether to summon government entities and former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif. NAB sources have confirmed that the bureau will soon launch an inquiry into OLMT embezzlement.
