In Karachi, more than 3,500 citizens deprived of mobile phones in April

KARACHI: More than 3,500 citizens of Karachi were robbed of their mobile phones, according to a report by Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) for the month of April.

The report states that 113 cars were stolen in Karachi and another 19 were snatched. A total of 2,309 motorcycles were stolen and 137 were snatched at gunpoint. In addition to this, 2,209 mobile phones were stolen and 1,390 were snatched. According to the report, four cases of extortion were reported in the city and 40 people were killed in incidents of target killing in different areas of the city. In the past four months, a total of 434 cars were stolen and 61 were snatched at gunpoint. Furthermore, around 8,250 motorcycles were stolen and 572 snatched. A total of 8,702 mobile phones were stolen and 5,395 snatched. Since January 1 this year, 15 cases of extortion and two bank robberies have been reported. A total of 135 deaths in cases of target killing or others have been reported.
