NAB’s awareness, prevention and enforcement policy, “Our Faith – Corruption Free Pakistan”, has remained very successful in creating awareness among people about ill effects of corruption, said NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal in a statement issued on Thursday.
“As per the positive feedback received from various segments of society, NAB’s awareness and prevention efforts have been effectively highlighted by NAB’s media wing free of cost in print, electronic and social media throughout the country which is appreciated by all wings of society,” he said.
He said reports and surveys by different reputable national and international organisations –Pildat, Mishal Pakistan, Transparency International, World Economic Forum and Gallup –showed confidence on NAB’s performance and testified to people’s confidence and trust over NAB.
He said NAB opened its door for citizens to receive their corruption related complaints. These citizens filed 44,315 complaints which were thoroughly scrutinised in complaints scrutiny committees.
“On the basis of prima facia evidence, 1,713 complaints converted into complaint verifications which were again scrutinised and after obtaining point of view of all concerned, converted into 877 inquiries and subsequently 227 investigations were ungraded,” he said.
