LAHORE: Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has directed the emergency officers to maintain high alert during Ramazan to ensure timely provision of emergency services in case of any emergency.

He issued the directives while chairing meeting on Wednesday. He directed all the district emergency officers (DEOs) to implement emergency plans for the month of Ramadan in true letter and spirit. In order to ensure coordinated emergency response in case of any untoward incident emergency officer on duty would maintain vigilance especially during Iftar and Tarwee prayer.

Dr Naseer said availability of senior officers in Command and Control Room in the districts before Iftar would ensure timely and professional response of rescuers to all emergencies as emergency data of previous Ramadan months revealed that maximum number of road traffic crashes take place just before Iftar time when people used to rush towards their homes.
