Four bandits arrested after shoot-out in Faisalabad

Police officials say suspects were on a looting spree

FAISALABAD: Saddar police arrested four suspects after a shootout, late night on Tuesday.

Police officials said that four suspects were on a looting spree near Sitiana Road Toll Plaza when a team from the Dolphin Squad reached the area.

Officials ordered the outlaws to surrender. However, the suspects opened fire on the police teams. Officials retaliated and called in reinforcements from the Saddar police station.

After receiving information of the incident, a heavy contingent of police, headed by DSP Sadar Jamshaid Iqbal and SHO Waheed Shahid, rushed to the scene and encircled the bandits.

The encounter continued for more than one hour during which one of the outlaws sustained bullet injuries while the remaining were rounded up by the police.

The injured criminal was identified as Riaz and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
