KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) rejected on Wednesday the bail pleas filed by three mukhtiarkars who are wanted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a case of making fake entries in land records.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Mazhar Alam heard the bail pleas filed by the three mukhtiarkars, Muhammad Safar Channa, Muhammad Samar Kalhoro and Ghulam Hussain.
The court questioned if the accused were innocent, then who was responsible for the fake entries.
Justice Ahmed remarked that they try their best to ensure their forgeries are not detected, adding that fake entries in land records were common all over Sindh.
NAB requests SC to reject Nawaz’s bail plea
NAB prosecutor maintained that substantial evidence was available against the accused therefore their bail pleas should be rejected. The court rejected the bail pleas of the three mukhtiarkars who were subsequently arrested by NAB officials.
