FIA arrest four human traffickers, recover 65 passports

Sleuths from Rawalpindi AHTC had been following the activities of a suspected human trafficker

ISLAMABAD: Four men involved in human trafficking were arrested in a series of raids in the twin cities on Saturday by the officials of the Federal Investigation Agency Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) on Saturday.

AHTC Rawalpindi sleuths had been following the activities of a suspect suspected of being a human trafficker, who would collect cash and documents from people of pretext of sending them abroad.

On Saturday, FIA sleuths zeroed in on their target and swooped up Rashed Mahmood from Faizabad Bus Stop.

Human trafficking: FIA arrests two, recovers 23 passports

On frisking the federal agency’s officials recovered 15 passports from Rashed.

On questioning, Rashed easily spilled the beans and gave details of his accomplices.

Subsequently, ATHC team raided a place in Blue Area and rounded up three more agents, Zafar Iqbal, Tanveer Ahmed and Farooq Azam along with 50 more passports and other related documents. The traffickers had collected a total of 65 passports for fake Qatar work visas from affected people of Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin.
