BOI chief stresses consistent policies

Says they are imperative for attracting foreign investment into the country

ISLAMABAD: Consistency in policies was imperative for attracting foreign investment into the country that could lead the economy towards sustainable growth, said Board of Investment Chairman Haroon Sharif. Addressing an investment conference, the state minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was keen to promote foreign investment in the country. He said that investment in the country has improved, but added that for attracting more foreign investment, the Board of Investment (BoI) was reconstituted. He, however, stressed the need for further improving laws for the promotion of investment. He said that efforts were afoot to reduce the cost of doing business and improve the ease of doing business ranking for Pakistan. Sharif expressed hope that the ranking of ease of doing business would improve considerably this year.
