University Of Health Sciences: Board approves Rs228m budget

About 10 per cent of it allocated to research.

LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Governors (BoG) on Saturday approved a Rs277.872 million budget for financial year 2011-12, with about 10 per cent of it allocated to research. According to the budget estimates, Rs26.627 million will be spent on research, including Rs12 million for research scholarships, Rs10.127 million for laboratory supplies, Rs3.5 million for lab equipment and Rs1 million for a research fund for special projects.  A sum of Rs48.84 million has been allocated for operating expenses, Rs80 million for salaries, Rs75.882 million for development activities, and Rs40 million for the conduct of examinations.
