Addressing the media outside the Quetta Press Club, Dr Sana Baloch and Dr Inayat Kakar among others stated that the government's failure to create vacancies was adversely affecting their personal and professional lives, particularly veterinarians. “At least 1,600 veterinarians are sitting idle across the province,” said the protesters.
The protestors pointed out that the government had adequate funds to purchase luxury vehicles but did not have the resources to fashion means of employment for the qualified youth of the province.
They also criticised the government over its failure to adequately use funds allocated under the Public Sector Development Programme. “Despite the annual allocation of resources and tall claims by the government, the projects eventually lapse,” they said.
