PM Imran to chair federal cabinet meeting today

Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to chair the federal cabinet meeting today and discuss the country's overall political and economic situation, Radio Pakistan reported.

The premier is expected to brief the session on his recent visit to China.

Adviser to the prime minister on finance, Hafeez Shaikh, shall elaborate on the agreements signed between Pakistan and China during the four-day official tour.

During his visit to Beijing, PM Imran met World Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kristalina Georgieva and appreciated the role played by the bank in regional connectivity, poverty alleviation, financial management, provisional projects and other infrastructure projects.

The premier also held a meeting with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde to discuss matters of mutual interest.
