PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai condemned the opposition’s reaction over the Local Government (Amendment) bill.

Shaukat Yousafzai talking to the media outside the K-P Assembly said the way opposition members protested was undemocratic and unethical.

Opposition members tore apart their own agenda for the House proceedings, Yousufzai said.

He deplored that the session was summoned on request of the opposition members and their agenda was to be discussed in the House which was torn apart by them.

He said the opposition members should have to realise over a million rupees are incurred on assembly staff and MPAs under the head of allowance during the assembly session.

He said that efforts have been made through the bill to make the local government system more service delivery oriented.
