10 killed in accidents across Punjab

At least 913 males and 272 females have been injured in various accidents

LAHORE: Rescue 1122 responded to 1,057 traffic crashes in the province during the past 24 hours. Ten people were killed in the accidents while 1,175 were injured.

Out of those that were injured, 729 people sustained critical injuries and had to be shifted to different hospitals. Meanwhile, 446 people sustained minor injuries and were treated on site by medical rescue teams.

Majority of the incidents, around 65%, involved motorcycles, highlighting the need for effective enforcement of traffic laws and lane discipline. The data also showed that 452 drivers, 29 underage drivers, 168 pedestrians and 565 passengers were among the victims of the road crashes.

The data also highlights that 1,185 victims were affected by the crashes including 913 males and 272 females. An analysis of their ages shows that 236 were under 18-years-old, 639 were between 18 and 40 and the remaining 310 were above 40 years of age.
