Grants given to upgrade sewerage infrastructure

CM assures Lasbela journalists of overall improvement

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that the provincial government has issued grants to local bodies’ administration for the improvement of sewerage systems in the cities of Hub, Uthal, Winder and Bela in Lasebla district.

He said this while speaking to a delegation of journalists and local press club representatives from Uthal, including Rafiq Tabasum, Pir Bux Kamlati and Ahmed Ali Jamot at the CM House in Quetta. Later, a delegation from Lasbela, including Sardar Iman Bux and Abdul Jaleel Khosa, met the chief minister to apprise him of issues facing the district.

He acknowledged that sanitation system was a major problem in cities across Balochistan and not only those in Lasebla district. “The provincial government has released funds which would be used for repair, maintenance and upgrade of the sewerage network in all cities of Lasbela,” said Kamal.

He assured the delegation of drastic improvement in sewage disposal while also mentioned the government’s desire to undertake outdoor beautification projects. “We would resolve the issues of public as soon as possible,” the CM added.

Criticising the previous government, Kamal said that there was a drastic improvement in governance in the current term. “We are focused on wholesome development to improve the lives and livelihood of the people of the province.”

Talking about job creation, the chief minister said that the government was focused on providing education and technical training to the youth, while creating a secure environment for investment. “This would create a skilled workforce with access to opportunities for professional and personal growth,” he remarked.

He also assured the delegations that the provincial government was taking all necessary steps to address problems faced by journalists including security.

During the day, the chief minister also presided over a joint parliamentary group meeting of allies of the provincial government to review the political situation and discuss development issues of province. The meeting also took up the agenda of the recent assembly session.

Furthermore, the government decided to store water from the recent rainfall for the benefit of local fishermen as well as agricultural purposes. Chief Minister Kamal has directed the Fisheries department to develop a plan and present its report as soon as possible.
