Rs65m in valuables stolen in Lahore

Evidence suggests someone broke in through a window

LAHORE: Approximately Rs65 million in jewelry, cash, foreign currency and other valuables were stolen from a house in Defence A on Thursday. Reportedly, Hasnain Haider, a resident of Y Block, lodged a complaint at the police station stating that when his mother woke up in the morning to offer her prayers, she saw that the cupboard’s lock was broken. Further, valuables and clothes were also scattered across the floor. When they checked the cupboard, they discovered that valuables worth RS65 million were missing. Further, the lock of a window in the upper portion of the house had also been broken, the complaint added. Police reached the scene and collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements. Police said that they are currently investigating the matter.
