Minister distributes compensation cheques
Says losses from natural calamities could be reduced by adopting precautionary measures

Punjab Minister for Disaster Management Mian Khalid Mahmood on Thursday said losses from natural calamities could be reduced by adopting precautionary measures.
Talking to the media after distributing cheques among families of the deceased who died during the recent rain and hailstorm, he said instructions had already been given to departments concerned for taking measures to deal with any situation. The minister said that as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, providing relief to deserving people was a top priority of the government. He said cheques of Rs800,000 each had been provided to Sughraan Bibi and Fiyaaz Bibi.’
He said the district administrations and revenue departments had been directed to compile complete details of wheat crop losses.
