Virtual University to train 1m people in digital skills

ISLAMABAD: Virtual University of Pakistan has set a target to train over a million young people in Pakistan in digital skills free of cost, VU Rector Naeem Tariq said at 10th convocation of the online varsity.

The online portal for DigiSkills Training Programme is accessible for free, across the country, he said welcoming the guests at Jinnah Convention Centre on Thursday.

A total of 1,521 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various degree programmes.

A total of 18 gold medals and 67 merit certificates were also awarded to outstanding graduates.

Addressing the ecstatic audience on this propitious occasion, Rector Tariq highlighted the achievements of VU, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country.
