ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court Bar Association has expressed deep concerns on the appoinment of judges in Islamabad High Court (IHC) from other provinces.

The bar condemned this act in the executive body meeting and said that the nomination of Advocate Kashif Sarwar and Advocate Evaz Zehri should be reversed immediately.

However, the bar raised no objection on the nomination of a member of Islamabad Bar Council Fayyaz Ahmed.

The bar during its meeting expressed that judges in Islamabad high court should be chosen from five thousand members of the Islamabad bar which is the third largest bar in the country.

The bar warned that a protest movement would be launched if the demand was not heard.

The Chief Justice (IHC) , Ather Minallah, has withdrawn Evaz Zehri’s name who hails from Balochistan, after the caveat.

Judge grants bail to absconder

The Civil Judge Mansehra , Farman Ali , approved the bail of a suspect who was allegedly missing for almost a year.

The suspect , Sultan Zameen, was ordered to be released from jail against  bail bonds of hundred thousand rupees.

The suspect was arrested from G.T Road Taxilla last year however his arrest was kept secret and he was declared a missing person. On April 13th , he was presented before the court by the SHO Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Hazara where he was accused of target killing in Karachi. Following this, he was sent on a judicial remand.

Yesterday, the endorsing report of his arrest was submitted in high court’s Rawalpindi bench after which he was granted bail.

The suspect is a father of six children.

Bails dismissed

The Special Judge Central ( Federal Investigation Agency) , Nisar Baig , dismissed the bails of two officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB and ordered them to be handcuffed in court.

Another suspect, Zubair Kaleem, was also arrested.

The suspects, Muhammad Ishtiaq and a computer operator, had allegedly made Zubair as Nadia Nasreen’s husband by creating a bogus marriage certificate.

The FIA had registered a fraud case against the suspects on the complaint of Nadia while the suspects had acquired interim bails from the court.

The physical remand of the suspects will be obtained from the magistrate today.

Judges transferred

Some 55 additional district and session judges were transferred.

The measure was conducted by the Chief Justice Lahore High Court.

The Additional Session Judge Amir Zia was transferred from Lahore to Gujjar Khan District Rawalpindi, Irfan Ahmed Sheikh from Lahore to Rawalpindi, Shahid Baig from Lahore to Rawalpindi, Tahir Abbas Supra from Lahore to Taxilla, Shafiq Abbas from Gujranwala to Rawalpindi, Islam Gondal from Rawalpindi to Lahore and Sadat Hussain Malik from Rawalpindi to Gujranwala.

The judges will take charge of their offices from April 25thl.
